They usually sang this song marching to go fight or while taking breaks. God Save the South is about the Confederacy will win with the help of God. Through his strength, they would win this war and take what was rightfully theirs. The Southern Wagon was a song to rally up neighboring cities to join the Confederacy. It's a song that makes the Confederacy look great and makes the Union look like they have no chance of winning.
